Printmaking Workshop in Venice
Learn the art of intaglio printmaking in a real Venetian atelier, even with no previous experience.
Small groups (max. 2 people) | Complete hands-on experience | Take home your own print
An authentic experience, not a school
You will work directly in the atelier, following the entire process: from the drawing to the final print.
A course tailored to you
Courses take place in Arianna’s studio on Fondamenta degli Ormesini, in the Cannaregio district. Each course is designed for a maximum of two people: not an art school, but a direct, hands-on and personal experience.
Arianna guides you through every stage — from choosing your subject to drawing, from preparing the plate to making the final print on the press. No previous experience is required.
What you can learn
Depending on the workshop you choose, you will work with one or more of these techniques.
Drypoint on plexiglass
The perfect technique to begin with. The plate is engraved directly using a metal point, without acids. The result is soft, expressive, and immediate.
Drypoint on zinc
The same drypoint technique, but on a zinc plate. The mark is sharper, and the result richer and deeper.
Intaglio printmaking
The classic technique of Venetian printmaking. Etching, aquatint, and drypoint combined to create tones, textures, and depth.
Two-block linocut printmaking
Relief printing on linoleum. Two plates, two colors, and a surprising result even for those who have never engraved before.

Courses are offered one-on-one or for a maximum of two participants, allowing plenty of time for individual guidance and hands-on practice.
Each course is divided into sessions of up to 4 hours, scheduled together on days that work for both of us.
The suggested course duration is approximate and is intended to give you an idea of the time usually needed to explore and complete each technique. Everyone learns and works at their own pace, so the actual timing may vary depending on your individual process.
If there is one particular printmaking technique you would like to focus on, we can shape the course around your interests and dedicate our time entirely to that.
