Bosmina 2
Bosmina 2 is an intaglio print on a zinc plate made by me during my personal study of microorganisms in the aquatic world.
The subject depicts a typical freshwater microorganism, the bosmina, which can be found abundantly in both small and large lakes, and whose distinctive transparent body allows the interior to be seen in a fascinating interplay of translucency.
Lion of Saint Mark
Copper engraving depicting the winged Lion of Saint Mark. This is the sculpture that can be seen atop the column in the Piazzetta San Marco, near Saint Mark’s Square. The Piazzetta is marked by two large granite columns bearing the symbols of the two patron saints of Venice (Saint Theodore and Saint Mark, represented by the winged lion).
This lion has a long history, probably beginning as a winged lion on a monument to the god Sandon in Tarsus, Cilicia (southern Turkey) around 300 BC.
Lion of Saint Mark
The Lion of Saint Mark, representing the Evangelist Saint Mark depicted as a winged lion, is the symbol of the city of Venice and formerly of the Republic of Venice. It also appears both on merchant ships and on the naval military flags of the Italian Republic.
Saint Mark, represented as a lion, is a typical Christian iconography derived from the prophetic visions contained in Revelation 4:7. The lion is one of the four living creatures described in the book.
Microorganism 5
Microorganism 5 is an intaglio print made by me during a personal study on microorganisms in the aquatic world.
The subject depicts Lymnaea embryos inside the gelatinous cells of the egg mass. Lymnaea is one of the most widespread freshwater mollusks.

They are the result of a personal study on the reflections of Venice’s architectural elements in the water, almost creating a double of the city distorted by the constant breathing of the lagoon.
