Gondola on Grand Canal – Watercolor Etching

Description

Gondola on Grand Canal is a drypoint showing a typical venetian landscape: a gondolier rowing quiet on his gondola on the most beautiful street of the world, the Grand Canal in Venice.

Technique: Drypoint on zinc plate, printed with copperplate black ink on rosaspina ivory paper.
The cdrypoint was then coloured by hand using the watercolor technique. The abbreviation P.d.A. at the bottom left, instead of the serial number, means “artist’s proof” (P.d.A. “Prova d’Artista”).

The artwork may look slightly different from photos. Small imperfections or irregularities add to the handmade charm, distinguishing this piece from mass-produced prints.
