Piscina de Frezzaria Bridge

Description

In the early sixteenth century, Frezzaria was an area devoted to the production and sale of fine artisanal goods, particularly arrows (frezze – hence). It is placed in San Marco district, very close to La Fenice Theatre.

Technique: Drypoint on zinc plate, printed with chalcographic black ink on rosaspina ivory paper.
The chalcography was then coloured by hand using the watercolor technique. The abbreviation P.d.A. at the bottom left, instead of the serial number, means “artist’s proof” (P.d.A. “Prova d’Artista”).
