Description
In the path that leads to Madonna dell’Orto there is the Fondamenta dei Mori (foundation of the Moors) with the homonymous field which takes its name from the three 13th Century-male-statues with turbans placed against the buildings of the campo. A fourth Moor called “Sior Antonio Rioba” with a iron nose lies at the foot of the bridge and he was, as the Roman Pasquino, the spokesman of the Venetians in the satire against the Republic.
