Canal, bridge and fondamenta

Description

Drawing of a typical venetian landscape: a canal crossed by a bridge and its “fondamenta”.

“Fondamenta” means “foundation” in Italian, and it describes the walking bank along a canal. It was (and still is today) a popular area to load and unload boats, kind of like a dock.

Technique used: thin black felt pen drawing colored with watercolors.

Paper size: A4 (11.7 x 8.2 inches)
Image size: 6.3 x 6.3 inches
