Bridge – ivory

Description

Bridge ivory” is an etching on copper plate. The techniques used are:

โ€“ Aquaforte etching, to get the lines of the drawing
โ€“ Aquatint, to get the nuances and give a sense of depth.
The chalcography was then coloured by hand using the watercolor technique. The abbreviation P.d.A. at the bottom left, instead of the serial number, means โ€œartistโ€™s proofโ€ (P.d.A. โ€œProva dโ€™Artistaโ€).
Printed with chalcographic ink on rosaspina ivory paper.

They are the result of my own personal study of the architectural elements of Venice reflected in the water, asย to create a split city warped by the steady breathing of the lagoon.
