Description
“Bridge ivory” is an etching on copper plate. The techniques used are:
– Aquaforte etching, to get the lines of the drawing
– Aquatint, to get the nuances and give a sense of depth.
The chalcography was then coloured by hand using the watercolor technique. The abbreviation P.d.A. at the bottom left, instead of the serial number, means “artist’s proof” (P.d.A. “Prova d’Artista”).
Printed with chalcographic ink on rosaspina ivory paper.
They are the result of my own personal study of the architectural elements of Venice reflected in the water, as to create a split city warped by the steady breathing of the lagoon.
