 40,00

Description

This copperplate etching represents the San Giorgio dei Greci Belltower in Venice (for further details, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Giorgio_dei_Greci). The church was the center of the Scuola dei Greci, the Confraternity of the Greeks in Venice. The belltower was built in 1592.

Etching on copper plate. The techniques used are:

– Aquaforte etching, to get the lines of the drawing
– Aquatint, to get the nuances and give a sense of depth.

Printed with chalcographic ink on rosaspina paper.

Sold unframed

This item is individually made by hand in my studio in Venice – there may be slight variations in color, making this a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art. The artwork may look slightly different from photos. Small imperfections or irregularities add to the handmade charm, distinguishing this piece from mass-produced prints
